After almost 2 years of providing an online shop, I've decided to close that portion of my little business.  The reason is simple, the monthly cost of the online shopping cart exceeded any potential profit.

I'll still be willing to supply your needs on any item I can get, especially if local to the Memphis area, but it will be via email, IM, phone or in person.  Payments via Cash, Check or Paypal.  If you have a need to order online and delivery is time critical, may I direct you to any of the excellent suppliers who are also sponsors of the Bob Dunsire online Forums.

However, do not think for a moment that I'm decreasing my efforts regarding piping in the area. In addition to the Northeast Arkansas Caledonians, pipe band in Jonesboro, I'm also organizing the Juvenile Solo Piping and Drumming Competition in Sept, as part of the CLANJAMFRY: A Scottish Festival

And, there's still more!  Looking around, things are on the upswing in the area.  There are now 3 fairly local pipe bands, each with different personalities, goals, histories such.  However there are still "holes".  At least a couple of which I hope to fill.

1. A pure competition oriented band.  For those who may be very much goal and competition oriented, there is now the Delta Pipes and Drums.  This is a completely different concept for this area.  It's not about parades, it's not about getting together with your buddies, it's about pushing each other to be the best & tightest sounding unit we can create in this area. More info is on the web page.

2. A youth only pipe band.  Kids don't really want to stand in a circle with old farts.  So, in order to recruit kids, we need to give them a group of peers to play with. In all likelihood, in a year or so, they'll be kicking all our butts, but that's great.  Right now, this band, should it get off the ground, will be a part of the Delta Pipes and Drums, simply to simplify things at the start, and give them a umbrella and supporting band. Also, that affiliation may prove to set an example of excellence and work ethic.

Welcome.

Birls Gone Wild LLC is entirely owned and operated by David Corbett, and began business in early 2006.

David is a member of the Wolf River Pipes and Drums,  PM of the Northeast Arkansas Caledonian Pipes and Drums, and attempting to start a competition focused group as the Delta Pipes and Drums which may include in it's organization a youth only band.

While the business is primarily focused on sales of the Great Highland Bagpipe and accessories, I hope to increase the inventory and availability of highland apparel.  With suppliers such as Locharron, L&M and others, I can meet just about any request from decorative pin & broach to full ghillies to bonnet sets.  Notepads, Clan cups, Bumper Stickers, CD's.. you name it.  If it's not in the online store, just send an email and ask.
